Find Your Bliss

Classes, Meditation, & Workshops:

      with Leslie

Spine Renewal-  Good beginner class to start with (75min)

During this class you will move through Hatha yoga poses that work on opening your whole spine and perhaps quieting your mind.

You will use different leg positions to release tensions in the muscles spanning from your legs through your hips and into your lower spinal muscles. The effect is the release of the spinal tensions, which changes your whole body. (In a good way!)

You will identify and open areas of your spine that are tight. After identifying these areas you will allow your body to learn Hatha yoga poses that may sufficiently care for and bring flex ability to these tight areas of your body. There are two primary areas in the spine where most people's muscles have a tendency to lock down: (a) The tailbone (which spreads into the sacrum) and (b) The vertebrae behind the heart (which spreads through the rib cage and into the lower part of your neck) These tensions inhibit the full range of movement in and around your spine. During this class you will move through Hatha yoga poses that work on opening your whole spine and perhaps even quieting your mind.

In Short: Open your spine, quiet your mind.

Yoga Tone- beginner/intermediate/all levels (75min.)

In this class you will focus on centering your breath while you release the tension in  the muscles surrounding your spine, neck, and shoulders. After you have released any tension, making more room for flexibility you will use hand weights to strengthen your arms, abs, buns and legs. You will cultivate your strength, stamina, and flexibility while appreciating what your body IS capable of doing!

Your combinations of strength, stamina, and flexibility are essential to the health and well being of your body, as well as being useful in your life.

Bliss Barre all levels, get sweaty (45min)

In this class you will channel your inner Black Swan (ha ha). Build stamina and endurance with a series of isometric strength training movements.

Challenge your body through reps of small range of motion movements without ever bringing high impact to those possible danger zone areas (aka knees and shoulders). These isometric movements will help strengthen muscles without straining tendons or ligaments. Wooh Whoo to less risk of injury!

In Short: "Step right up to Bliss Barre and find your beautiful balance of strength and awareness."

Soak Up The Sun Vinyasa  all levels  (75min)

You will learn a sequence of poses (vinyasa) and repeat the exact same sequence again in this class. A specific sequence of poses that is repeated the same way and in the same order each time is called a vinyasa.  Vinyasa (pronounced "vin-yaa-sa") means putting together, connecting, or a composition of things that differ from one another. We will move through a series of poses including Sun Salutations, becoming familiar with each pose, while allowing your body to learn and feel the intentions of each of these poses. Bring a little sun into your day!

Teen Yoga  ages 13 and up

You will begin this class by controlling your breath. This breath control will serve you well as you flow through a series of strength building poses. As you build this outer strength in your body you will shed any self doubt, build confidence, and discover your inner strength along with your personal power.

This inner strength will encourage a healthy relationship with your body, a positive self awareness and you may even discover you really DO love homework and chores!

All right, perhaps no to the loving homework and chores...Yes! To loving your strength and personal power.

Guided Awareness Meditation with Ujjay Pranayama All levels (30min)

This (30min) session is a meditation without a yoga class. NO experience needed!

This is a GREAT session to begin a new yoga practice with.

In this session you will bring your awareness to your own body while you rest comfortably in Shavasana (Yoga's relaxation pose). As you dive deeper into your consciousness you will be guided into Ujjay Pranayama (Yoga's Victory breath). The combination of Shavasana and Ujjay Pranayama has the potential to release any locked energy stored in your body. This flow of energy allows you to maintain your practice, while clearing unwanted toxins out of your system. Helping you to keep your vital life force, (prana), circulating throughout your body rather than escaping from it.

In Short: 30 min or less, energy tune up.

Couples/Partners Yoga  Great beginner class, no yoga experience needed (2hr)

As you both move together in synchronicity through your asanas (poses), you not only will experience a deep stretch in your muscles you will also deepen the connection with your loved one!

** Your, "favorite person" may be a romantic partner, BFF, parent/older child, or someone you hope to get to know better! **

Chakra Yoga  advanced/intermediate class  (90min)

Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel, and these "wheels" were thought of as spinning vortexes of energy. There are seven chakras, or energy centers in the body that can easily become blocked by holding tension, external situations, internal habits, low self-esteem or even daily stress. A chakra can become either deficient or excessive, and therefore imbalanced.

Each chakra is associated with a particular function within the body, and with specific life issues and how we handle these life issues. Both inside ourselves and with our interactions in the world. Practicing asanas that correspond with each of these chakras can release these blockages of energy bringing balance to our bodies and our minds. Releasing these blockages allows us to obtain this inner balance which can bring us to a higher consciousness.
